Frequently Asked Questions - Webcam Archive
Making time-lapse videos with manageable file sizes is not yet an automated process for us. We will do a time-lapse if we see something out of the ordinary. Please let us know if you think a particular day should be time-lapsed. Thank you.
The time-lapse video files range in size from 1 to more than 6 megabytes.
The file "cam_one" in the album "Newest" is the most current image. Other images in the Oneida Lake View Webcam Archive albums are labeled by the day of the week and the hour of the day. The webcam software "WebcamFirst" used by OneidaLakeView.com designates Monday as the first day of the week and uses a 24 hour clock so the file "cam_one_d1_h13" was captured Monday at 1:00 PM. Its album name should state the date or the image can be viewed to check the time stamp.
*UPDATE* We are now using a program called Dorgem for our web cam. We have it set up to archive an image every 15 minutes which may or may not fall exactly on the quarter hour. The file name contains the year, month, day, and time in hours - minutes - seconds. The file cam_one20080709_111936.jpg was captured on July 9, 2008 at 11:19:36 AM within a second or two.
Although there could be a problem with the image, it is most likely that the image was captured at night. Try viewing the image to see what its time stamp says.
